Symposium in Myanmar marks 80th anniversary of China's victory over Japanese aggression

YANGON, Aug. 26 (Xinhua) -- A symposium was held here on Tuesday to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.

Speaking at the event, Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Ma Jia said that Taiwan's return to China is the victory achievement of World War II and an important part of the post-war international order.

She called for promoting a correct view of World War II history, maintaining the post-war international order, and working together to build a community with a shared future for mankind.

Myanmar's Deputy Minister for Information U Ye Tint said that Myanmar has firmly observed the one-China principle, and called on the international community to oppose hegemony and power politics and work to build a peaceful, stable and prosperous world under the framework of the United Nations.
