YANGON, Aug. 22 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar authorities have seized 37.1 kg of heroin in eastern Shan state, the state-owned daily Myanma Alinn reported on Friday.
Acting on a tip-off, anti-narcotics police searched a vehicle in Tangyang township in Shan state on Aug. 18, and seized the narcotics, the report said.
The confiscated narcotics are worth over 556 million kyats (about 264,761 U.S. dollars), and three suspects were arrested in connection with the case, it said.
The suspects were charged under the country's law, it added.
