Book on 75th anniversary of China-Myanmar diplomatic ties launched in Myanmar

YANGON, June 19 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese Embassy in Myanmar on Wednesday held a book launch event for "Voices from Paukphaw Hearts -- A Collection of Stories on the 75th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between China and Myanmar" in Yangon, Myanmar.

Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Ma Jia, Myanmar's Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn, and Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, together with more than 300 Chinese and Myanmar guests, attended the event.

Ma Jia said that the story collection aims to record and spread the deep friendship between the two peoples. She hopes that both sides will discover and write more stories of China-Myanmar friendship and work together for a better future.

U Maung Maung Ohn said the story collection is touching, and Myanmar is willing to further deepen cultural exchanges with China.

The Chinese Embassy in Myanmar organized a writing contest for stories about the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Myanmar during March and April.

One first prize, three second prizes and 11 third prizes were selected from nearly 400 submissions/ Those winning stories were compiled into the bilingual collection.
