YANGON, June 17 (Xinhua) -- The Myanmar police have seized 650,000 stimulant tablets in Myanmar's Yangon, the state-owned daily Myanma Alinn reported on Tuesday.

Acting on a tip-off, a joint anti-narcotic task force intercepted three suspects in Mingala Taungnyunt township on June 10 and confiscated 400,000 stimulant tablets from the paper boxes they were carrying, the report said.

Further investigation led to the seizure of an additional 250,000 stimulant tablets from a suspect's house in Shwepyitha township on the same day, it added.

The total value of the drugs is estimated at 650 million kyats (about 300,000 U.S. dollars), it said.

The suspects have been charged under Myanmar's drug laws, and further investigations are ongoing, it added.
