YANGON, Sept. 14 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar has held a ceremony in Nay Pyi Taw to mark the World First Aid Day, the state-owned daily The Global New Light of Myanmar reported on Sunday.

During the ceremony, Union Minister for Health Thet Khaing Win said that first aid is a crucial part of pre-hospital care, helping patients during transport to the hospital, preventing further injury and increasing survival chances.

The union minister expressed his hope that officials at all levels and Red Cross volunteers will continue to carry out social and charitable work for the benefit of the country and its people.
