BANGKOK, July 1 (Xinhua) -- Thailand's business sentiment improved in June, thanks to recovery in both manufacturing and non-manufacturing sectors, the central bank said on Tuesday.

The Southeast Asian country's business sentiment index (BSI) was recorded at 48.6 last month, rising from 46.7 in May, as most components of the index, particularly production, total order books, and export conditions, significantly increased.

The three-month expected BSI edged up to 49.5 in June from 49.4 a month earlier amid an ongoing decline in the manufacturing index due to the end of a U.S. tariff exemption negatively impacting exports.

The reading was based on a survey of 701 respondents from large and medium-sized firms.
