BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, June 3 (Xinhua) -- It is important for the ASEAN (the Association of Southeast Asian Nations) countries to unite with customs administration in the region playing a crucial role in safeguarding trade flows and supporting economic resilience, in light of the recent developments concerning tariff measures introduced by the United States, a senior Brunei government official said on Tuesday.

Complexities and uncertainties continue to shape the global trading landscape, Pengiran Hajah Zety Sufina, Brunei's deputy minister of finance and economy, said at the opening of a two-day meeting of ASEAN directors-general of customs here on Tuesday.
