Belarusian president eyes to have strategic partnership with India

MINSK, March 11 (Xinhua) -- Belarus would like to bring its relations with India to a strategic level, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said on Tuesday while accepting the credentials of the Indian ambassador in Minsk, the press service of the Belarusian leader said.

Belarus is eager to reach a strategic level of relations with India, Lukashenko said, adding that India is a long-standing friend and partner for Belarus.

The Belarusian leader thanked the Indian side for its support for Minsk's joining the Shanghai Cooperation Organization as a full member and receiving a partner status at BRICS in 2024.

Belarus always welcomes those who are determined to work productively and see the country as an equal and promising partner, Lukashenko said.

On Tuesday, the Belarusian president also received credentials from the diplomats from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Burkina Faso, Georgia, Kenya, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar and Pakistan.
