YANGON, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar's authorities have seized 5.62 kilograms of heroin and 240,000 stimulant tablets worth 204.3 million kyats (about 97,285 U.S. dollars) in the country's eastern state of Shan, said a release by the Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control (CCDAC) on Sunday.
Acting on a tip-off, anti-narcotic police raided the home in Laukkaing Township of Shan State on Sept. 16 and found the drugs.
The suspect was charged under the country's Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law, it said.
On Friday, 7,420 stimulant tablets were seized in the Kawkareik township of Southern Myanmar's Kayin State, it mentioned.
