YANGON, Sept. 14 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar earned over 6.48 billion U.S. dollars from its exports in the first five months of the 2023-24 fiscal year, according to the Ministry of Commerce on Thursday.

Between April 1 and Sept. 1 this year, the Southeast Asian country earned over 4.47 billion dollars of the total export earnings from the private sector, while it netted over 2 billion dollars from the government sector, the ministry's figures showed.

Myanmar's total export revenues during the five-month period was down, as compared to over 7.28 billion dollars earned in the same period a year earlier, the ministry's data showed.

Among the country's export products, manufactured goods are on top with a revenue of over 4.08 billion dollars, its figures showed.

Myanmar mainly exports agricultural, animal and marine products, minerals, forest products and manufactured goods to its foreign trade partners, including China, Thailand, Bangladesh and India, according to the commerce ministry.
