YANGON, March 15 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar exported more than 14,000 tons of shrimps in the first 11 months of the 2022-2023 fiscal year, the fisheries department said on Wednesday.
From April last year to February this year, the country exported over 13,564 tons of shrimps via sea routes and nearly 1,040 tons via land borders, it said.
The figure marks a 14.78-percent increase compared to over 12,723 tons registered a year ago, official data showed.
An official from the fisheries department told Xinhua that the Southeast Asian country has exported the shrimps to countries including China and Japan.
Myanmar exported marine products including fish and shrimps worth 693.917 million U.S. dollars during the 11 months.
The country mainly exports agricultural products, animal products, marine products, minerals and forest products, as well as manufacturing goods.
