KUALA LUMPUR -- Malaysia seeks to explore trade and investment opportunities as Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim caps off his official visit to neighboring Brunei on Wednesday.

MANILA -- A Philippine Air Force (PAF) plane crash-landed in a rice field in Bataan province during a training flight on Wednesday morning, killing two pilots, the military and police said.

PAF spokesperson Colonel Ma. Consuelo Castillo said in a statement that a Marchetti SF260 aircraft with two pilots aboard went down in Bataan province, west of Manila, at around 10:34 a.m. local time. (Philippines-PAF Plane-Crash)

TOKYO -- One person was confirmed dead and nine others still missing after a cargo ship capsized off Nagasaki prefecture in southwestern Japan, the Chinese Consulate-General in Nagasaki confirmed Wednesday.

According to the consulate-general, 14 Chinese and eight crew members from Myanmar were on the Hong Kong-registered cargo ship.

There were 22 people aboard the 6,651-ton ship named Jintian. (Japan-Cargo Ship-Nagasaki)

BANGKOK -- The Thai private sector on Wednesday joined the government's efforts to host Specialised Expo 2027/28 in the southern resort island of Phuket as the bid entered the final phase.

The collaboration between the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau, as the national bidder, and the Joint Standing Committee on Commerce, Industry, and Banking, affirms the support from all sectors in the country for the final host selection in June. (Thailand-Expo)
