MANILA -- Visiting Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi said here on Wednesday that China is willing to deepen pragmatic cooperation with the Philippines to usher in a new "golden age" in bilateral ties.

MAIMANA, Afghanistan -- Two people were killed and 10 others injured after a military vehicle overturned in Afghanistan's northern province of Faryab on Wednesday, a provincial source confirmed.
The accident occurred in the morning when a military pick-up veered off a road in Kotal-e-Gorzad locality in Faryab, Shamsullah Mohammadi, director of the provincial information and culture department, told reporters. (Afghanistan-Killing)

HONG KONG -- Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) John Lee on Wednesday said the HKSAR government will be pragmatic and result-oriented in solving pressing problems facing Hong Kong residents.

YANGON -- The Myanmar navy, the naval warfare branch of the armed forces of Myanmar, has conducted a naval exercise in the Myanmar seas off Rakhine State, according to the military-owned newspaper Myawady Daily on Wednesday.
The training, Sea Sheild-2022, which started on Friday, was conducted with the participation of naval ships, including two submarines and helicopters, it said. (Myanmar-Naval Exercise)
