Myanmar reports 15 new COVID-19 cases

YANGON, Feb. 21 (Xinhua) -- The number of COVID-19 cases in Myanmar has increased to 141,750 with 15 new cases reported on Sunday, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health and Sports.

No new death was reported on Sunday and the death toll stood at 3,196 in the country, the ministry said.

According to the ministry's figures, a total of 131,282 patients have been discharged from hospitals and over 2.48 million samples have been tested for COVID-19 so far.

A total of 959 samples were tested for COVID-19 on Sunday, down from around 10,000 samples tested daily in the first week of this month.

Myanmar detected its first two COVID-19 cases on March 23 last year.
