Thailand confirms 82 new COVID-19 cases

BANGKOK, Feb. 20 (Xinhua) -- Thailand on Saturday confirmed 82 new cases of coronavirus infection, mostly domestic, according to the Center for the COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA).

Of the new cases, 71 were domestic infections and 11 others were imported cases, the CCSA report said.

The domestic cases included 35 in Samut Sakhon province, southwest of Bangkok, and 25 in Pathum Thani province, north of Bangkok, among others.

Thailand has so far confirmed 25,323 cases of infection, 22,633 of which were reported as domestic while 2,690 others referred to those who had returned from abroad.

So far, 24,129 patients have fully recovered and been released from hospitals while 1,111 others are currently hospitalized and 83 fatalities have been reported.
