VIENTIANE -- The Lao stock market closed on Monday with a decrease of 0.22 percent compared to the previous trading day.

The Lao Securities Exchange composite index decreased by 1.28 points, reaching 593.14 points after closing. (Laos-Stock Market)

SINGAPORE -- The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) announced on Monday that a new initiative will be launched to provide up to 25 billion yuan of RMB (about 3.8 billion U.S. dollars) in funds to banks in Singapore.

This is to deepen the RMB liquidity and further strengthen banks' ability to meet the growing RMB business needs of their customers in Singapore and the region. (Singapore-RMB)

SEOUL -- South Korean stocks hit an all-time high Monday as foreigners bought local stocks after the announcement of positive economic data.

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index gained 49.09 points, or 1.92 percent, to settle at 2,602.59. Trading volume stood at 1.63 billion shares worth 15.5 trillion won (13.9 billion U.S. dollars). (S. Korea-Stocks)

MANILA -- Philippine shares closed 0.12 percent higher on Monday.
