BEIJING, Sept. 27 (Xinhua) -- The following are the updates on the global fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

BEIJING -- No new locally transmitted confirmed, asymptomatic, or suspected cases of COVID-19 were reported in Beijing on Saturday, the municipal health commission said Sunday.

The capital also reported no new imported confirmed, asymptomatic, or suspected cases on Saturday, according to the commission.

NEW DELHI -- India's COVID-19 tally is inching towards the 6-million mark, reaching 5,992,532 on Sunday, as the death toll reached 94,503, according to the latest data released by the federal health ministry.

As many as 88,600 new COVID-19 cases and 1,124 deaths were reported across the country in the past 24 hours.

BEIJING -- China has sent a team of medical experts to Lesotho and Angola to help the two countries battle COVID-19, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin announced Sunday.

The team is organized by the National Health Commission and comprised of experts from China's Hubei Province.

YANGON -- A total of 525 people were arrested in Myanmar in a week for violating the COVID-19 rules, state-run media quoted Myanmar Police Force as saying on Sunday.

From Sept. 19 to 25, the police charged 26 people for breaking the COVID-19 rules and filed 73 cases against 149 people for violating curfew across the country.

LIMA -- The Peruvian health ministry said Saturday that the number of COVID-19 cases in the country has risen to 800,142, with 32,142 deaths.

"To date, 657,836 people have completed their period of home isolation or have been discharged from a health facility," said the ministry. Another 8,282 patients remain hospitalized, with 1,357 in intensive care units.
