DHAKA, July 11 (Xinhua) -- Bangladesh confirmed 30 more fatalities from the COVID-19 on Saturday, bringing the country's death toll to more than 2,300.
Nasima Sultana, a senior Health Ministry official, said in a briefing in Dhaka that "2,686 new COVID-19 positive cases and 30 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours across Bangladesh."
She said the number of confirmed infections in the country totaled 181,129 while fatalities stood at 2,305.
Meanwhile, she mentioned that the COVID-19 fatality rate in Bangladesh is now 1.27 percent against the total number of detected cases so far in the country.
According to the official, 11,193 samples were tested in the last 24 hours in labs across the country.
She said the total number of recovered patients in the country now stands at 88,034 including 1,628 on Saturday.
Bangladesh recorded the highest 4,019 cases in a 24-hour period on July 2.
And the country reported the highest 64 deaths of COVID-19 patients in a day on June 30.
