Jutanugarn keeps No. 1 in Rolex Rankings

Sports Xchange - Tuesday 20th June, 2017

Ariya Jutanugarn of Thailand maintained her razor-thin edge atop the Rolex Women's Golf Rankings released on Monday.

Jutanugarn ended the 84-week reign of New Zealand's Lydia Ko last week, becoming the 10th different player to ascend to No. 1 since the advent of the rankings in 2006. She is coming off a tie for 22nd at the Meijer LPGA Classic.

Ko, who finished in a tie for 10th on Sunday, remained just ahead of So Yeon Ryu of South Korea.

American Lexi Thompson, who led heading into the final round Sunday and finished in a tie for second, continued to occupy the No. 4 ranking while In Gee Chun of South Korea rounded out the top five.

Five players from South Korea are ranked among the top 10. The only change in that grouping was Sweden's Anna Nordqvist inching up one spot to No. 9, supplanting Sei Young Kim.

Canada's Brooke Henderson, the winner at the Meijer LPGA Classic, moved up three spots to 13 while Michelle Wie vaulted up 15 slots to No. 33 after tying Thompson for second.
